Title: EXAMPLE OF THE ELABORATION OF THE STRATEGY OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

Abstract: The aim of the paper is to present of the methodical procedure for elaboration of strategy of sustainable development. The methodical procedure was applied in the study area Východné Karpaty region. Its aim was, based on analysis and evaluation of natural and socio-economic conditions of the region and current state of their utilisation, to elaborate basic strategic objectives of development of the territory. They should ensure the basic positive changes of the region in the line of principles and criteria of sustainable development harmonising development of socioeconomic activities with the potential of the region.
