Abstract: The contribution informs about results of communication activity research of pupils with medium-severe mental retardation in the education process. The article presents the data obtained by the Flanders method of the teaching lesson analysis. The results point to passivity of pupils with medium-severe mental retardation during teaching lessons. Disproportion of verbal communication of teacher and pupils can be one of the signposts of insufficient humanistic approach during teaching lessons in classes of the B variant of special basic school.
