Title: Úloha školy a školského psychológa v kultúrne rôznorodom prostredí

Abstract: With enlargement of European Union borders disappear and mobility of people in the unified European environment grows. This brings larger diversity of inhabitants in particular countries. Therefore, we must learn to live in multicultural society. We will more frequently meet with race, ethnic, cultural, language and religious differences also in school settings. This is the basis for a new challenge for school, school psychologist and other counseling workers who provide pedagogic-psychological counseling service at school. The author defines the signs of intercultural counseling aimed not only at pupils of cultural minorities and immigrants, but at other subjects, too, who live and cooperate with these pupils. The author introduces also the intercultural competencies of school psychologists and other counseling workers. These should be able to recognize and respect the cultural phenomena that enter into the process of counseling and that take effect in relationships with pupils and their parents.
