Title: CATEGORICAL GENERALIZATION OF BASIC COLORS BY CHILDREN | ||
Author: Milan GÉCI | ||
Abstract: In this work we studied the transition from instructional to categorical generalization of basic colors and variables that influence the generalization process in five-year-old children. We have confirmed that categorical generalization of basic colors is mainly dependent on the degree of familiarity with the names of colors and their shades, speech development and age. We have not confirmed that children capable of categorical generalization are in transition to the concrete operational thinking stage (of cognitive developmental theory). |
