Title: Stress distribution near the diffusion bonding interface of Fe3Al and Cr18-Ni8 stainless steel | ||

Abstract: The stress distribution of Fe3Al/Cr18-Ni8 stainless steel diffusion bonding joint was calculated, the method of numerical simulation and thermo-elastic-plastic finite element method (FEM) were adopted. The results indicated that the stress peak value appeared near the interface of Cr18-Ni8 steel side. This is the key factor inducing crack. With increasing of the heating temperature and time, the stress of Fe3Al/Cr18-Ni8 diffusion bonding joint increased. The largest stress value with a heating temperature of 1100 °C is about 65.9 MPa, which is higher than the stress peak value at 1000 °C by 9.4 %. For a certain arrangement of thickness, the stress is becoming larger with the increasing of the thickness of test plate. When the thickness is beyond a certain critical value (about 8 mm), the stress varies slightly with the thickness. |
