Abstract: CAREER DECISION-MAKING STYLES AS PREDICTORS OF CAREER DECISION-MAKING DIFFICULTIES AMONG ADOLESCENTS The study is focused on the issue of career decision-making and the difficulties that are associated with it. Research results point out to the importance of career decision-making styles in relation to career decision-making difficulties. Adaptive styles were found to be significant negative predictors of lack of motivation, lack of information about self, lack of information about how to make career decision, and external conflicts. Maladaptive styles were shown to be significant positive predictors of overall career decision-making difficulties, lack of information about schools, lack of information about labour market, and general indecisiveness. General indecisiveness was significantly positively predicted not only by maladaptive styles, but also by adaptive styles of career decision-making. In relation to internal conflicts no predictors were found to be significant. |
