Title: Vnímanie školskej klímy deťmi stredného školského veku v súvislosti s ich interakciou s rodičom
Author: Marek Blatný, Andrea Baranovská, Dominika Doktorová, Jana Hubinská

Abstract:

PERCEPTION OF SCHOOL CLIMATE BY CHILDREN
OF SECONDARY SCHOOL AGE IN RELATION TO THEIR INTERACTION WITH PARENT

The research was carried out on a population of Slovak children. The authors found that direct interaction of a child with the mother is highly related to particular aspects of social climate as perceived by the child. Positive interaction between the child and the mother is positively correlated with cohesion and perceived satisfaction in the classroom, negative interaction is correlated negatively with these aspects. Positive interaction of mother and child has a weak but expected negative relationship with the perceived conflict and competition in the class. Mother-child interaction also affects the child’s perception of curriculum difficulty: positive interaction contributes to the perception of the curriculum as less demanding, the opposite is true for the negative interaction.
