Title: Kresba postavy a niektoré ukazovatele pripravenosti dieťaťa na školu
Author: Vladimír Dočkal, Eva Farkašová

Abstract: HUMAN FIGURE DRAWING AND SELECTED INDICATORS
OF CHILD’S SCHOOL READINESS
Abstract: In 2011, 2015 and 2019, groups of six-year-old children underwent testing, as part of a development of a new psychodiagnostic tool, in which they drew a figure of a man and the level of their school readiness was examined. Indicators were graphomotor skills, visual differentiation, concentration of attention and ability to generalize. The obtained results indicate better performance of girls in drawing and graphomotor skills and comparable performance of boys and girls in other monitored variables. A significant but small correlation was observed between the drawing of the figure and graphomotor skills. Very small correlation (significant only in the 2019 group) was found between figure drawing and intellectual ability. Relationships with visual differentiation and concentration of attention were not confirmed. Noteworthy are the differences in the results obtained in the individual groups, which may be related to cultural and social changes in the last eight years, but also point to uncontrolled factors intervening in the selection of research groups.
