Abstract:

HUMANISTIC ASPESTS OF INCLUSIVE EDUCATION
 

The author wants to contribute to a new perspective on the dimensions of inclusive education. He turns attention from integration to inclusion and offers a humanistic perspective of inclusive pedagogy and psychology through the concept of democracy, participation, support for the needs of each person in the school environment, not only in focusing on the child. Applying Maslow’s Pyramid of Needs he draws attention to the inevitability to move education from meeting lower D-needs towards growth B-needs, from power over others to power with others. He complements the human rights context of inclusion with the theory of humanistic psychology.
